VSAT And Satellite Technologies
 
 

Another advanced service provided by the Telecoms division of the Gillette ICT Group, Open Telecom.

Open Telecom provides privately controlled customized wireless solutions that are both terrestrial and satellite based. Open Telecom has successfully implemented VSAT solutions and projects in Guyana for the Guyana Sugar Company (Guysuco), a microwave wide area terrestrial based network.

In 1996, Open Telecom has successfully implemented VSAT and satellite based systems for the Dow Jones Telerate financial Service in Trinidad for Computers and Controls, Comtech in Jamaica and Computers and Controls (Barbados).

In Trinidad and Tobago, Open Telecom installed and maintained satellite-based infrastructure for Cableviews' Cable TV network.

Open Telecom has implemented and managed the satellite infrastructure for Computers and Controls and the Gillette Group ISP’s Carib Link, Interserv and CableNett Internet service providers.
